The Environmental Management and Coordination Act 2015 is an updated version of the original 1999 legislation in Kenya that provides a comprehensive legal framework for the management of the environment and natural resources. This Act sets out measures for the prevention, control, and mitigation of environmental degradation, as well as the promotion of sustainable development. The Act also establishes institutions, such as the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), to oversee and regulate environmental compliance and enforcement in Kenya.
